I will always think of Slechtvalk as one of the greatest bands of all time. The album's "A Forlorn throne" and "Where wandering shadows and mists collide" can essentially not be surpassed in my opinion. If you haven't looked into Slechtvalk, you are missing out bigtime!

Trad metal with a dark, gothic leaning. The album blurb talks about the band seeking to deliver a timeless sound on the record and I think they nailed it. Everything you want from a traditional metal album is delivered in spades. Great riffs, great melodies and the production quality is excellent. The thing that holds a lot of good bands back from being great is the quality of the singing. The vocals are a real strength on this record, capturing the energy of the songs perfectly. Superb record!
